Hakim Ziyech is confident after his first league goal for Chelsea. The former Ajax player opened the score for the Londoners on Saturday in the 0-3 away game against Burnley.
“You have to play with confidence and not be afraid to make mistakes,” said Ziyech, who also assisted Timo Werner with 0-3. “Otherwise things will not go as it should.”
The 27-year-old midfielder cum attacker hit halfway through the first half from the edge of the penalty area. Last Wednesday, he scored his first goal in the service of Chelsea in the Champions League match with FK Krasnodar (0-4 win).
“It has been a good week for me. Hopefully we can continue like this,” he said. “I feel good and I feel at home here. Everything is fine.”

Lampard impressed with Ziyech
Ziyech had to postpone his debut for Chelsea for a month due to a knee injury. After a few raids, he finally made his basic debut for ‘The Blues’ against Krasnodar. Chelsea coach Frank Lampard was already full of praise for the Moroccan international after that game and praised him again on Saturday.
“I am really impressed and very enthusiastic,” said Lampard Ziyech. “I could see his personality and he also worked hard without a ball. He has that in him. It showed today and with his qualities he gives us something extra.”
Thanks to the victory over Burnley, Chelsea are fourth with twelve points from seven games. Lampard’s team has played more duels than most competitors.
