SC Cambuur has taken over the lead in the Kitchen Champion Division from Almere City FC for at least a few hours. The Frisians were 3-1 too strong for FC Den Bosch on Friday evening. NAC Breda did not get further than 0-0 at TOP Oss.
Cambuur fell behind Den Bosch after twenty minutes by a goal from Kevin Felida. Just before half-time, Giovanni Korte balanced the score with a nice bow ball.
Robert Mühren gave the Frisians the lead halfway through the second half on a pass from Issa Kallon. Fifteen minutes before the end, Kallon himself was accurate, after he came face to face with goalkeeper Wouter van der Steen.
Thanks to the victory, Cambuur now has one point ahead of Almere City. The Flevolanders have played the same number of matches, but will still visit FC Volendam on Friday at 9 p.m. FC Den Bosch occupies eighteenth place.
NAC misses a penalty against TOP Oss
In Oss, fifteen minutes before the end, NAC had the perfect opportunity to open the score with a penalty kick. Mario Bilate, however, saw his bet turned by goalkeeper Bo Geens. Earlier in the game, NAC got away well, when a volley from TOP Oss forward Dennis van der Heijden landed on the post.
NAC had to do without Sydney van Hooijdonk against TOP Oss. The striker was injured in his legs and feet after his shower door broke.
NAC remains fourth due to the draw and is three points behind Cambuur, which also played a game less. TOP Oss can be found in the lower regions of the ranking.
In addition to FC Volendam-Almere City, another match is scheduled for 9 p.m. in the Kitchen Champion Division: Helmond Sport-Jong PSV.
