“Completely refurbished. When I finish studying, have a job and a little budget … ”
‘I’ve loved cars since I was ten. The fact that it has become a 205 is because we always go on holiday in France. I have a preference for the 80s cars that you see so much driving there. Then they must be good! The comfort is second to none and there is little electronics in it. The ideal beginner’s car.
This was the second car I went to. For 700 euros I was allowed to pick it up. It was camping under the trees, had not been washed for weeks and was buried under a pile of leaves. But there was also a list of invoices for replaced parts. The seller had it as a handy car.
The technique was good, but the paint was poor, it was on bare rims and the gear knob was a tennis ball. My father had to test drive because I did not have my driver’s license yet.
First, I started cleaning thoroughly and removed the huge speakers in the back. I try to make and keep everything original; I regularly check the demolition.
I use it a few thousand kilometers a year. Due to the short wheelbase and thin tires, such a car is very manoeuvrable and also quite smooth due to the low weight. This summer I want to take it with friends to Normandy. Modern cars always look angry, this one is very cuddly.
I’m probably going to drive a lot of other cars, but this one will stay. He’s been there for over 26 years, so why not? ”
