Chelsea booked a historic 0-1 win at Liverpool in the Premier League on Thursday. It is the first time that Liverpool have lost at home five times in a row in the competition. There were also victories for Everton and Tottenham Hotspur. In Italy, Internazionale strengthened the lead.
Chelsea’s victory was deserved. The visitors were the better team at Anfield, but were not careful with the odds and that was especially true for Timo Werner.
The German accidentally appeared in front of Alisson’s goal after fifteen minutes of play, but produced a weak lob. Not much later Werner was unlucky that his goal was disallowed due to offside. After seeing the images it turned out that it was extremely minimal.
Mason Mount did manage to display the power difference on the scoreboard just before half time. The former Vitesse player dribbled in from the left and shot the ball beautifully into the far corner: 0-1.
Even after the break, Liverpool with captain Georginio Wijnaldum was unable to make a fist. There were still protests after an alleged handball by N’Golo Kante, but the home team did not receive a penalty. On the other hand, Ben Chilwell and Werner were still dangerous, but no more goals were scored.
With the win, Chelsea, where Hakim Ziyech was replaced halfway through the second half, is now number four with 47 points after 27 duels. Liverpool, which also suffered the fifth league defeat in the last six matches, is seventh with 43 points after 27 matches.

Everton and Tottenham mingle in battle for European tickets
For the Everton of technical manager Marcel Brands, Richarlison was the match winner in the match against West Bromwich Albion (0-1). The Brazilian headed home halfway through the second half after a cross from Icelander Gylfi Sigurdsson. In injury time, a goal by Mbaye Diagne (WBA) was rejected due to offside.
With the win, Everton climbs from seventh to fifth place in the Premier League with 46 points from 26 matches. The battle for fourth place is exciting, as Chelsea only has one point more than Everton. West Ham United (45 points), Liverpool (43) and Tottenham Hotspur (42) are panting Chelsea and Everton in the neck.
Tottenham found the connection with the subtop by a 0-1 win at Fulham. The only goal of the evening was scored by a player from Fulham: Oluwatosin Adarabioyo worked the ball into his own goal after nineteen minutes.
In the second half, Tottenham, where Steven Bergwijn was missing, escaped the equalizing goal. A goal from Josh Maja was disallowed after seeing the images due to hands. Kenny Tete and Terence Kongolo stayed on the bench with Fulham.

Sánchez increases title chances for Internazionale
Internazionale did excellent business in the Serie A on Thursday by consolidating the lead. The formation of trainer Antonio Conte won 1-2 on a visit to Parma and therefore ends up on arch-rival AC Milan.
Internazionale had a hard time with Parma from the start, but managed to make the difference after the break. Alexis Sánchez broke the spell in the 54th minute and doubled the lead for Inter eight minutes later. Romelu Lukaku was the principal for both goals.
Twenty minutes before the end, Hernani did something back on behalf of Parma, but the home team did not get any further. Due to the victory after 25 matches, Inter has six points more than number two AC Milan and ten points more than number three Juventus, which has finished 24 matches.
