Top Dollar has investigated which star restaurants you should visit if you prefer not to pay the top price. More than 500 establishments with one, two or three Michelin stars from all over the world have specifically looked at the lowest prices for a three-course menu.
Twenty-five restaurants with one Michelin star offer a menu that costs less than $ 50 (approximately 42 euros). The cheapest place to eat is at Hostellerie la Montagne in Colombey-les-Deux-Églises. This French establishment offers a seasonal menu for around 21 euros.
Seven Dutch restaurants appear in the Top Dollar list. At Noble Kitchen in Cromvoirt, Eden in Valkenswaard, De Karpendonkse Hoeve in Eindhoven, Versaen in Ravenstein, The Millèn in Rotterdam, Cheval Blanc in Heemstede and Fitzgerald in Rotterdam (all awarded with one Michelin star) you pay between 50 and 80 for a three-course menu. euro.
Outside of Europe you eat the cheapest star menu at Three Coins in Taipei. Such a menu will cost you about thirty euros and consists, for example, of a main course of steamed abalone with dried and fresh tomatoes.
Le Palais in Taiwan is the cheapest three-star restaurant. For about 117 euros you get a menu to lick your fingers on.
