All shops are ‘just’ open again; you don’t have to make an appointment first. Fortunately, according to a majority of the readers who responded to our call.
“Making an appointment takes away the spontaneity and, moreover, you almost have to succeed at that one store, because you cannot just look elsewhere,” writes Céline Tollig. Anja shouts briefly but powerfully: “Freedom at last!”
Other readers thought shopping by appointment was not that bad. “Safety first,” Maarten van der Zwan e-mails. Willem and Yvonne van Ede did not have many problems with it either: “Nice and quiet.”
Janny Gort says that she does not like going to the shops anyway. “Not even by appointment. First a vaccine! ”
Loes Tas is concerned now that the measures have been relaxed. “I hope that people will not go shopping because the chance of being infected is much too high. Perhaps it would have been better to postpone the easing for a few more weeks. I foresee chaos around the terraces, crowded parks and shopping streets … hopefully I am wrong. ”
Stepping into one store after another without any worries. Now that there is no longer an appointment to be made, I am going shopping again more often. This lockdown has lasted long enough.

Shopping by appointment; how annoyed I was! If you had an appointment, you only got 30 minutes and if you couldn’t pass, you had to make another appointment to go to another store. I will definitely be shopping more this week!

Not online anymore
How I look forward to being able to shop normally again. I will stop shopping online. Now we can see the family again. That would be great.
For the shopkeepers I am happy that everyone can go to the store again, but for myself shopping by appointment could have taken longer. I have just finished my breast cancer treatments and still think shopping is too intense.
