FC Twente and ADO Den Haag also won their second match in the Women’s Eredivisie on Friday evening by beating PEC Zwolle (6-0) and Excelsior (0-6), respectively. Heerenveen and VV Alkmaar kept each other in balance: 2-2.
In Enschede, FC Twente did not encounter any problems against PEC. Fenna Kalma headed in after ten minutes on a pass from Kayleigh van Dooren. The roles were reversed in the 29th minute: Van Dooren worked inside on the advice of a heading Kalma.
The two goalscorers from the first half struck again at Sportcampus Diekman after the break. Van Dooren made it 3-0 in the 65th minute and Kalma increased the margin to four not long afterwards. Captain Renate Jansen signed for the 5-0 fifteen minutes before time and Marit Auée took care of the final chord.
ADO Den Haag was also unapproachable. At halftime, the team of coach Sjaak Polak already led 0-4 at Excelsior through goals from Nikki IJzerman, Jaimy Ravensbergen and Lobke Loonen from a corner and a long shot from Daniëlle Noordermeer. After the break, ADO again scored from a corner via Ravensbergen and IJzerman scored her second goal of the evening.
FC Twente and ADO also won their first game of the season last week with big numbers. Since Twente’s goal difference is slightly better (+11 to +10), the tukkers take the lead.
Heerenveen failed to record their first win of the season. Captain Nina Nijstad scored the opening goal five minutes after the break with a long shot, but Alkmaar equalized fifteen minutes before the end and seemed to score the winner two minutes before the end. Roos de Haas then made it 2-2.
