Hotel of the week: tasteful and expansive resort with excellent service in Estepona (Spain)

This is nice to arrive: instead of a place in the usual queue at the check-in desk, we are invited to sit down in an attractive sofa on the terrace. Here we are welcomed with a flute of champagne and an iPad to fill in the necessary personal data. Oh, and do we like going out with a Mini? Resort services!

The Ikos Andalusia is a relatively new all-inclusive resort, just outside Estepona and close to Marbella. There are several swimming pools, seven restaurants (with Michelin chefs) and from the dishes to the hotel rooms it is all equally tasty. Set up so widely that the word massively would be completely out of place here.

Ikos encourages you to get out and about. For example with the Mini or with one of the many types of bicycles available. In addition, tickets to the museums in the area can be arranged, golfing and evening dining in Estepona. All this at no additional cost.

We will stay at the resort for the time being, dine in the Asian restaurant Anaya and enjoy. By the way, we also do this during a visit to the historic center of Estepona.

This town is a pleasant surprise for us and the bustling square where our dinner table is booked is also Spanish to the fullest. We have a super evening, but on the way back in the shuttle bus (great service for the wine drinkers) we conclude that we ate exceptionally well in the resort.

Because places like Marbella, Mijas and Ronda are too beautiful to ignore, we go out one more time. We accept that this is at the expense of our relaxation time in the resort.

But when I do my daily lap, this time on the wooden path along the beach in front of the resort where you can cycle all the way to Estepona, I promise myself to come back here. If only because due to lack of time I was only able to look at those attractive beds on the beach.
