It will still happen, an edition of Into The Great Wide Open in 2021. Under the heading ‘Let It Happen’ presents the festival of September 2 to 5 a modified form with less audience, but with debut artists and a variety of artists. The festival will of course be held on Vlieland.
The first thirty names were announced immediately. Into The Great Wide Open will in any case feature: Anne Müller, Bernadeta Astari Trio, Billie Marten, Blood Wizard, caroline, Chung Kings, Iguana Death Cult, Keep Dancing Inc., Kids With Buns, Lankum, Mazey Haze, Meskerem Mees, Mind Enterprises, Mychelle, Nagasaki Swim, Pongo, Real Lies, St. Paul, Steam Down, Sylvie Kreusch, The Goon Sax, The Resurrection, Véras, Waxfiend.
With the Irish folk formation Lankum, the English singer/songwriter Mychelle and the Australian indie pop band The Goon Sax, there are even some international names on the program.
This year’s art theme is Transform/Transit. An extensive art route, spread over the island, thus reflects not so much on where we are going, but on the point of change itself, in all its apparent temporality. With works by, among others, Children of the Light, Marjolijn Boterenbrood and Heleen Blanken.
