Tyrell Malacia is proud of his transfer to Manchester United. The 22-year-old Orange international is grateful to Feyenoord for his development and wants to continue the upward trend in the coming years at Old Trafford.
“It gives a wonderful feeling to play for Manchester United,” said Malacia in a first reaction to the website of the English record champion. The left back is the first purchase of trainer Erik ten Hag. “This is a new chapter. A new league, new teammates and a fantastic new coach.”
Malacia, who has signed with Manchester United for four years, obviously knows former Ajax coach Ten Hag as an opponent of Feyenoord in the Eredivisie. “I know what his qualities are and what he wants from a player.”
Manchester United technical director John Murtough calls the five-time international a “young and dynamic player with a remarkable amount of experience for a 22-year-old”. Malacia, in turn, emphasizes that he is still in full development. “I promise the fans that I will always give everything on the pitch when I wear the United shirt.”

‘I’m leaving through the front door’
Malacia was still under contract with Feyenoord until mid-2024, where he went through the youth academy and made his debut in the main force in the 2017/2018 season. It is reported that United will pay 15 million euros for Malacia. He is pleased that the Rotterdam club is receiving a substantial transfer amount after great years in De Kuip.
“It’s very strange to say goodbye to the club I’ve been around since I was eight, where I’ve developed from boy to man. But I’m leaving here through the front door, with a lot of pride and great memories.”
Malacia is already the fourth basic player of Feyenoord from the Conference League final against AS Roma who leaves De Kuip. Earlier, mercenaries Cyriel Dessers, Guus Til and Reiss Nelson said goodbye.
