The Pentecost weekend is coming up, which means that our festival agenda is packed again for the upcoming extra-long weekend. During Pentecost, festivals are organized throughout the country. As usual, we at Festivalinfo have listed some of the best festivals for you. This year Pentecost falls on Sunday 28 and Monday 29 May and with Saturday (and sometimes Friday) added, there is more than enough time for a beautiful festival.

Festival Hinterland
26 to 29 May, Doetinchem. Free entrance
For the music lover who likes to get to know new talent; for the theater enthusiast who wants to be surprised and immersed in pure and real performances and for the epicurean who also likes to eat out. From Friday 26 May to Monday 29 May, the festival will take place again at Bleek aan de Wijnbergseweg in Doetinchem. Just like other years, the festival continues to surprise everyone with the latest music. Among others, Di-rect, Them Dirty Dimes, Blanks and The Dutch Queen Tribute will perform.

Harmony of Hardcore

Over the years, the Hardcore festival has created an attraction for both the “dedicated” Hardcore fan and the enthusiast with a youthful sentiment for this music style. You get under the spell of hard beats and every step brings you closer to ‘the ultimate Hardcore feeling’. The event represents the following music styles: Mainstream Hardcore, Oldschool, Early Rave, Terror, Industrial, Early Hardcore, French-core, Retro Classics and Dubstep. Among others, Mental Theo, Mad Dog and The Dark Horror will give a show.

Freshtival
26 to 28 May, Enschede (65 – 140 euros)
Freshtival’s motto is ‘Escape the ordinary’. That will certainly work in Recreation Park Het Rutbeek in Enschede. More than 200 artists perform on 13 stages. And to make the party complete, there is also a festival campsite! The program includes Tekashi 6ix9ine, Nicky Romero, Antoon, Bizzey, Flemming and Radical Redemption.

Over The Top Festival

Over De Top is an annual two-day festival in Lichtenvoorde (Achterhoek). During the Pentecost weekend, the Swite Terrein will be converted into an oasis full of parties, theatre, relaxation and much more. About 6,000 people flock to Over De Top every year to forget the issues of the day and to do just one thing: ultimate enjoyment! Among others, Solomon, Antwerp Gispy Ska Orkestra, Magnetic Spacemen and The Covids will provide a show.

7th Sunday Festival

7th Sunday Festival is the all-round music festival in the Netherlands and is produced by Par-T every year on Pentecost Sunday at the De Roost festival site in Erp. It is sold out every year with 45,000 visitors who can enjoy 16 different areas. More than 120 artists are programmed in almost all genres of electronic music. Among others, Kraantje Pappie, Nicky Romero, Maan, Flemming and Chuckie will give a performance.

Big Pink Festival

Four-day festival during the Pentecost weekend at a unique open-air stage on the Landgoed Nienoord in Leek. From young people who like a wide range of dance music (Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings) to families with children who come for the live bands on the free Monday afternoon, everyone is catered for. Among others, Yung Felix, Freddy Moreira, Johnny 500 and Outsiders will give a show.

Snister Festival
May 26 and 27, The Hague. Passe partout: 43 euros
On 26 and 27 May, the center of The Hague will be dominated by everything that rocks and rattles! Sniester challenges visitors to a musical rollercoaster. Some 80 acts perform on 10 stages in the middle of the pop district in The Hague. This year’s line-up includes Crows, Bob from South, Black Honey, The Haunted Youth, SONS and Mood Bored. On Saturday 27 May you don’t even need a ticket to get a lot of music. A large part of the line-up can be visited for free.

Ribs & Blues
27 to 29 May, Raalte. Tickets 10 – 25 euros
Every year during Pentecost at the festival site in Raalte. Blues, blues rock and Americana from the best bands from home and abroad. This year there is a (little) entrance fee for the first time, but if you look at what you get in return, it’s a no-brainer. On the bill include Ilse deLange, The Analogues, Grollo, Walter Trout, Blackbird and Julian Sas.

Spring Festival
26 to 29 May, Maastricht. Tickets: €44.50 to €77
During the Pentecost days (Pentecost weekend) 2023 from Friday to Monday, 26, 27, 28 and 29 May, everything will be devoted to Spring 2023 Jo Koopman’s 70th Anniversary Spring Multi Fest in collaboration with the MuziekGieterij. A four-day music party with a variety of bands. Blues, BluesRock, Country, Americana, Pure Orange, Rap, HipHop and Reggae. Among others, Waylon, Broederliefde, Og3ne, Rootsiders and Harlem Lake will put on a show.
